It would be the same as running into Fred Flintstone in Quest for Fire. He simply doesn’t fit within the game’s otherwise carefully crafted and oddly realistic world. And his attempts at Stone Age science and discovery – like trying to fly by jumping off a cliff and flapping just a couple of feathers – are outrageously dumb. His Proto-Indo-European comes with an over-the-top Southern American accent meant to make him sound imbecilic. My only problem with this fascinating world is the inclusion of a side character, Urki, who clearly exists to provide comic relief. Leaning into it might be a more authentic way to play. And the vast bulk of what we see and do is unflinchingly brutal. It was, after all, a time of intense brutality. Point being, you may want to think twice before killing any innocent villager women or unarmed men who are simply farming the fields of your rivals.
